When a C course, home bound, student goes to school it is called - schooling スクリング. On Wednesday, Joshua had schooling. Joshy's teacher was a little surprised that I was willing to bring him at 9:30 (I now understand that a little more - see below). He was there for a slightly late "morning time".

There was some time to sit & play with friends.

Then it was music class time with all the B course students - elementary ~ high school. The theme of music class was Rain/Rainy Season. The teacher in charge did an awesome job. There was the frog song:

Then, Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head, where she enlisted the help of a couple of the other teachers to do a dance.

Last, there was a rainbow song. I didn't catch the name, nor did I recognize it.

It was a nice morning. I am glad we were able to go. However, it wasn't the easiest thing to work into my schedule because I had to stay the whole time. Last school year when we were talking about B course vs C course for Joshua this year we decided to go with C course with the option that Joshua would be allowed to have schooling almost every day during the healthy seasons. We had talked about my needing to be there until the teachers were used to his needs, but after that I would be able to drop him off just like a regular student. That is what I went into the day thinking - yes, I need to be there, but this is short term. I ask the teacher about Joshua staying by himself, she was surprised & said she would get back to me.
She got back to me today...
with a big NO. Joshua can go for schooling whenever, but I have to stay with him the whole time.
To be honest this felt like a kick in the gut. A reminder of all we have been through the past 2 years & 8 months. I had thought we were heading back toward a more normal life. I feel as if something else has been stolen from us. I will try to figure out how I can be at school with Joshua on a somewhat regular basis. It is going to be a struggle to juggle yet another thing.
The teacher also shared the plan for Joshua's 6th grade school trip... which is another long, kick in the teeth, story. The verdict is still out on this, but suffice it to say, we need the money tree to start producing beforehand and the trip isn't even to anywhere exciting!
P.S.
I do not have a newsletter ready to send out. I might have gotten the hard drive off the laptop, which means that I might, possibly, at least, have the format in tact. However, between being tied to a school schedule for Joshy, schooling the girls, running to weekly checkups & therapy - different days of course, teaching 4 days a week, making sure Joshy is getting extra fluids to help with kidney trouble - meaning we are giving drinks 8x/day, church responsibilities, English camp coming up, dealing with some issues Kei is having... Please don't hold your breath for a newsletter.
SIGH...
