Deep Breath ~ LEAP
We are getting ready to takle another developmental milestone...
Potty Training!
Joshy has been making great strides in development and is actually even showing some signs of be ready for potty training. We have been able to get him to go from time to time, too. I've checked some info about potty training special needs kiddos. We know it will take awhile and he may never be totally trained, but we are ready to take the leap!
Other Stuff...
On the spur of the moment, I decided to swing by the veggie shop on my way home from my preschool class this morning. I scored! I got a box of tomatoes for 350yen ($4.43). Can you say a nice big tomato & cucumber salad for dinner and enough fresh tomatoes to keep a starving teen happy for a few hours at least
?I also found a basket of 6 over ripe peaches for 100yen ($1.26). They didn't like the bike ride home too much, but I cleaned them immediately and was able to get 5 single servings in the freezer + enough for afternoon smoothies YUM!
Specking of preschool... my students will be preforming next week during the Gyon Matsuri. I was able to watch their practice before class

This afternoon, Joshy had a checkup. We are making another med adjustment. Everything else is looking good.
Then tonight we tried 2 new recipes for dinner... both were really good ~ Diner Meat Loaf Muffins & Linguini with Garlicky Breadcrumbs
I've had a fun filled day! How about you?

I love, love fresh tomatoes! I had a few this year from the garden. Happy potty training!
Yay for fun-filled days. We bought a share of a farm this year, and are starting to get tomatoes from it. We get meat as well as veggies.
My one grand-daughter has special needs, though you wouldn't know it to look at her. She was very late being potty-trained, and is still not completely dependable. She has to be reminded a lot. Now she's old enough to have periods, and her mom has to put her in Depends during that time. It's hard for both of them. My daughter's faith and sense of humor (and determination) help her cope.)Potty training!!! Good for you !!!
Those veggies look great and you got such an awesome deal too!
I like how you are always trying new recipes
@ata_grandma - special needs put a whole new twist on so many basic things.
@mcbery - we have a couple plants attempting to grow. They now have green tomatoes started
just not any close to ripe. I sort of miss having a big garden with lots of fresh things growing.
@mamaof3bugs -
Thanks!
You and Joshy can do it as far as the potty training is concerned. I always turned potty training into a together time and they earned their fav m&ms for even just trying, but when they did go, they got a whole lot more m&m's. My son used that method with his girls and his son too. Now my oldest grand daughter is using them m&m method on her son, my great grandson.
Some traditions just keep getting passed down and thank goodness for m&ms.@Grannys_Place - M&M's are great!
And they tell me how expensive Japan is for everything. I have yet to believe it - it depends on what you like to eat. If it is melons then yes; but that many tomatos for less than 5 dollars. Yeah forget it, and Japanese fruit/veggies are so yummy. We come home - and half way into the week we have rotting fruit.
