  • Double Time

Yesterday and today there was a children's festival at one of the local universities.  How we missed the info, given Jerry teaches there part time and it was in the city information paper, is beyond me, BUT we didn't know about it until a friend said something on facebook.  I am so glad she did!!

Bekah didn't want to go yesterday and volunteered to stay home with Joshy.  Today I took the girls + a friend back.

There was a "stamp rally" where you collected stamps from 7 different locations around campus.  Each location had something to do or make.

    There was a train ride...

    Kokadai Festival 002

There was a make a boomerang (yesterday) LED light (today).  We managed to miss both of these because we weren't there at the right time or all space was filled - bummer!

There was a soccer goal kick area in the area that told about businesses in Kashiwazaki.

    Kokadai Festival 006

There was a make a fan as part of the robotics display... Oh and lots of robots to play with!!

    Kokadai 2 006 Kokadai 2 004 Kokadai 2 002

There were service vehicles - military / police / construction / fire...

Kokadai Festival 010 Kokadai Festival 011 Kokadai Festival 013

There was a place where alluminum pen holders were being made <missed this one, too>

Then the last stop gave a prize <key holder> if you had collected all the stamps.  This building had the only pay to make craft area, but again we missed it.  <I do believe they had a better turnout than expected + not knowing all the details we weren't as on the ball as we should have been = missing out.  We'll know better next year  >

    It was HOT but F~U~N!

It was a good way to bring our vacation to an end!
