Frustrating Friday
Ever have one of "those" days when it feels like everything is out to get you?
It's been one of "those" days around here

Today has been HOT <it was showing a heat index of 108 @ lunch time> We have had a few short showers in the last couple days - much needed - but just enough to jack the humidity even higher. I don't do heat well. I do humidity even less well. And the combo

On to school...
I am still getting adjusted to skedtrack, the online school tracking/lesson planning program we started using last week when we came off summer break. I don't know what I did or didn't do, but the program listed both girls absent on Wednesday and Bekah absent again on Thursday. It automatically moved there assignments to today, but they have already done those. BUT it won't let me check off the work for today. I cannot figure out how to undo things so that it shows that they did school. I send a note asking for help. I haven't heard anything back and until I do lessons will be a bit more cumbersome. It was frustrating trying to figure it out - especially since Bekah had a 90min online class and needed the computer.
Kei was quite concerned with not being able to see her lesson/assignment page. Then she struggled with spelling, topping it off with arguing about how many words she missed. THEN, decided that we would have to do spelling on either Saturday or Sunday. I told her Monday would be fine... and then realized that we are taking Monday off because it's Labor Day... I hope to do something sort of holiday-ish. She told me we couldn't take Monday off at which point I lost it!
Fast forward to work...
1st class went well. The classroom never really could be considered cool, but we managed to at least not drip sweat.
Between classes - I cleaned the outside of the building just a bit so that we could hang a new sign and in the process managed to get water inside. It leaked in around the old side door and then came in through the crack where I had the hose running out the main door
So the secretary (I helps some once I was done) had mopping up to do inside.2nd class not too bad, but the kids were wound up and my 1 girl felt that letting out an ear piercing screech from time to time was a lovely thing to do. Class room was slightly cooler... maybe...
After class, I discovered that my fitbit was off... something... because it had a blank screen! Not sure what happened because I'm 99% sure it was charged. Wonder if it got a bit wet either from sweat or from the cleaning?
THEN ~ between 2nd & 3rd class our secretary ask me if I had seen the cash box... ummm... no. It was nowhere to be found and some cash vouchers we had used as a promo were also missing. I went up to my 3rd class as the secretary was calling the police to report a robbery. This is not the 1st time, in fact, it's the 3rd since one of our secretaries quit.
3rd class was fair considering I was majorally distracted and frustrated. The boys were quite surprised to come down after class to find police all over!
4th class wasn't much better...er...a bit worse because the students knew there were police in the building AND the police were in a out of the classroom some checking windows and such - mostly in the teacher's room, but they had to go through the classroom to get there.
After class, I had to answer a few questions, our secretary took the blunt of this while I was in class, and then we all; secretary, Jerry, & I, had to be finger printed. The police finally finished up about 7:45 and I was able to head home.
On the bright side, my fitbit did come back to life when put on the charger. It still isn't showing the correct time... I hope it will settle down here soon.
As for the petty cash, it could have been worse. It could have been better, as well, but...
It's time to go to bed and pray that tomorrow is better!

At least your Friday wasn't boring
Have a great weekend, hope you get to do something Labor Day-ish besides work!
Some of my close family member's home was broken into on TU - had their computer stolen, as well as some small appliances and some jewelry. Major damage to one door and glass everywhere. It's very discouraging and irritating and unsettling and sad...I completely understand.
Praying for cooler weather and working technology!!!
AleshaWhat a day! Bet your glad it's over. Hope your weekend will be more restful.
What a day! Sounds like ur final class has a guilty conscience, if they calmed down because police are there heeheheehee
Hope your weekend is TONS better !@Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit - @ata_grandma - @mlbncsga - Thanks
@ObtainingMercy - Thankfully nothing big was stollen nor was anything broken. But they did get away with some cash
Oh dear, Laura! I think I would have lost it long before you did. I only have myself to blame if I mess things up in Homeschool tracker, but it can take a while to sort it out. And it has sure been difficult scheduling anything this week.
Days like this are when you are really glad that tomorrow is a new day. And God's mercies are new every morning. I hope and pray that they find the thief, or that at least you get your money back. I know it isn't likely...but anything is possible.
Glad you blogged. I've been missing you.
